NYC!

April 17, 2012 by Nathan Bransford 22 Comments

Blogging will be sporadic this week as I’m on a work trip to New York, New York!

I don’t know if you’ve heard (and if you have, start spreading the news), but if you can make it here you can make it anywhere.

    You are soooo lucky.

And for some reason I think Jay-Z and Alicia Keys will agree with you.

Oh, how I love New York. My mother and I vacationed there in Fall of 2010 and made it all about photography and food– it was tremendous.

    Have a great time. 🙂

I've never been (what the hell? as Avril Lavigne might say), but I'm jealous because I want to go and eat lots of good stuff and see some sights and people watch and see a great play and visit museums and explore Central Park and pretend I can afford to buy things at cool stores and and and…someday.

    Nathan,

Considering that you've already made it, you don't need to make it there. (lol)

Have fun in the big apple. Make sure you check out the Village, Williamsburg, and definitely Ft. Greene.

Also, in light of your new…relationship status…please don't become "too" popular with the local ladies and remember that this is, in fact, a w-o-r-k trip. (wink)

So jealous. La Maison du Chocolat hot chocolate. Best way to spend $8on overpriced hot chocolate, even if you do have to deal with Rockefellar center tourist slow-walking. Oooh…and Rockwood music hall. Price of a drink & get a fantastic show or two. And isn't Rick Moody doing a signing at The Strand this week? I clearly need a fix soon. Thanks for reminding me. Have fun & don't forget to eat a Crif dog!

Don't EVEN forget to have a slice of breaded eggplant pizza from Ray's Pizza on 6th Avenue and 11th Street! Believe me, you won't want to go home!

Nathan: for how long? Starting when? Any time for socializing?

Drop me a note if you feel like meeting somewhere in midtown after say 4:30 p.m., when I get off work at my day job. Especially Wednesday or Friday…:)

I have heard that rumor you're spreading…have lived in the area since first moving to Brooklyn in '92, except for that nearly 4 year stint in Madrid…:)

If I don't see you, enjoy the place. And don't be surprised if you run into fans or friends on the streets…

For as long as I can remember, I've been really anti New York which is hardly fair as I've never been there. I think it's because I don't appreciate cities or city life. Give me a beautiful forest or a meadow filled with wild flowers or a creek winding it's way beneath wonderful old trees…

NYC does have central park, though, but also expensive real estate, noise and traffic congestion and hoardes of people and dangerous night life in some areas…

I'm leaving today…wait, I'm already here! Nathan, you MUST get thee to Artichoke Pizza on MacDougal St. in the Village. I'm from Brooklyn. I know from pizza. Seriously, it will change your life. Enjoy your stay! 😀
