Today I’m on my way to the land of Shiner Bock and Schlitterbahn for the Austin SCBWI conference. Looking forward to seeing some of you there!
But even though I’ll be spending my time today making my way through security lines, I’ll still happily give you the news of the week:
iPAD!!!!!!! OMG OMG OMG iPAD OMG iPAD OMG!!!!!!!
And there you have it.
(Actually I’ll be back on Monday with Last Week in Publishing)
Have a great weekend!

Uck, Donna Hole. Not a person I want to know.
Well, Donna is a blog friend, and I can tell you she's a nice person to know. Your loss.
T.Anne – go to Nathan's facebook. He's linked it right next to Twitter.
If you click on events, it will tell you his upcoming conferences, etc.
Poor Nathan, you picked a suck time to come to Texas. It's so so cold! Sure, there's the conference and all, but still. Brrr. Plus, I don't know what you'll do at Schlitterbahn without water. Maybe there will still be beer. Let us all pray for the beer.
*lowering my head for you*

Sorry, California born and bred, and haven't found any state or country I've visited that I like so well. Northern CA, to be more specific. No disrespect to Texans intended.
Mira: thanks for your support. You're pretty awesome yourself.
…….dhole
I like California and particularly Northern California too but uck, Texas, not a pretty state to me is not the way to communicate this love, at least in my humble and admittedly not very important opinion. Hence my reaction (bowing) No apology necessary, I should apologize and should have been more intellectual about my displeasure but it was a very small displeasure and is gone now.
Mira: Your friend (yesterday, and it's over and I won't comment again) essentially reduced an entire place and its people. I can already see she's a good person by her response. No need to make your presence more ubiquitous here than it already is.
Donna-
Speaking from the same general location as your brother — you didn't step on any local toes or twang. 😛
Rainforest Cafe IS a great place. It always seems kind of touristy to me, but I've never gotten bad food there. (Of course, Babe's chicken is better, but it's a bit of a drive.)
Never been to Cali, myself. Kinda wish I'd gone to school out there.
Josin:
I knew I'd mangle the name. Rainforest Cafe, yes. You're right, it is touristy, and I think that was a lot of its appeal. I was certainly gawking like a tourist at the enormous fish tanks, and every time one of the character settings animated I raced around to what was happening.
It was a blast!! But lucky for me, I wasn't the only adult acting like a kid in a candy store.
Not sure iPad is the best thing ever. Its a big iPod touch.
OMG OMG OMG! does that mean you like iPad? you approve? ha ha… you crack me up, Nathan Bransford, literary agent, blogger extraordinaire! love your blogs – fun, witty, helpful, and informative! keep it up!!
Heard your talk in Austin, so I'm following your advice and procrastinating instead of writing…isn't that what you said to do? Anyway, thanks for the critique, no sucking up intended.
